Foster v. Schleifer et. al, Multnomah County Case No. 1112-17075

Ms. Foster was in Portland on vacation when a woman working for a local furniture company pulled in front of her causing a crash. After the crash Ms. Foster’s neck and back hurt. She tried seeing a chiropractor but it did not help. She finally saw a doctor and an MRI revealed a small compression fracture in her back and a disc herniation in her neck.

Ms. Foster had a long history of neck complaints including a prior worker’s compensation claim and diagnosis of degenerative disc disease. So the at-fault driver’s insurance company disputed that the injuries were related to the crash.

Ms. Foster hired Chad Stavley and he filed a lawsuit in Multnomah County Circuit Court. The case proceeded to trial. During pre-trial motions the defense offered $150,000 and the case settled.
