Pedraza v. Moen, Multnomah County Case No. 16CV28423

Plaintiff Pedraza was driving westbound on I-84 in the right lane. Defendant Moen was driving westbound slightly behind Pedraza when he changed from the middle lane into the right lane and hit the back of Pedraza’s vehicle.  Pedraza alleged crash-related injuries to his neck and back including disc protrusions and annular tears in his mid and low back.  He also alleged that the crash caused him to have carpal tunnel syndrome.  Pedraza sought $21,711 for past medical expenses, $245,000 for future medical expenses and $500,000 for non-economic damages.

Moen admitted liability but denied that the crash caused any injury.
