$6.2 Million Mesothelioma Verdict
Miller v. Kaiser Gypsum Company, Inc., Multnomah County Case No. 19CV08509
Plaintiff Miller alleged that he was exposed to asbestos-containing products manufactured, distributed and supplied by Defendant Kaiser Gypsum. Miller claimed that Kaiser was negligent for selling a product that they knew or should have known was dangerous. He also brought strict liability claims alleging that Kaiser Gypsum manufacturing and selling an unreasonably dangerous product. Miller claimed that the asbestos exposure resulted in him developing mesothelioma. He sought $64,543.75 for past medical expenses, $3,000,000 for future medical care, $14,880 for p[ast wage losses and $3,000,000 for lost earning capacity as well as $10,000,000 for non-economic damages. Mr. Miller’s wife sought $10,000,000 for loss of consortium.
Defendant Kaiser gypsum denied that Miller was ever exposed to any of their products that, for a short time, contained asbestos.
