$6,739 MVA Disc Injury Verdict
Sodaro v. Boyd, Multnomah County Case No. 18CV51752
Plaintiff Sodaro was a passenger in a car driven by her son when he stopped suddenly to avoid another car that ran a red light. Boyd was driving behind the Sodaro car and failed to stop in time and struck the back of the Sodaro car. Sodaro claimed that Boyd was negligent for tailgating, driving too fast and failing to keep a proper lookout. He claimed that the crash caused him multiple cervical and thoracic disc herniations requiring surgery. He sought $95,013 for past medical expenses, $10,0000 for future medical expenses and $250,000 for non-economic damages.
Defendant Boyd denied liability and claimed that the crash was the fault of the driver who ran the red light.
