Defense Verdict I-84 MVA

Hofman v. Naovaransy, Multnomah County Case No. 19CV11393

Plaintiff Hofman claimed that he was driving 45-50 MPH on I-84 when he was rear-ended by Defendant Naovaransy, and the impact caused him to skid out of control and crash into a pole.  He claimed the crash caused him soft-tissue injuries to his head, neck, shoulder, back, and wrist.  He sought $27,000 for past medical expenses, $3,000 for lost wages and $19,999 for non-economic damages.

Defendant Naovaransy claimed that he was not responsible for the crash, Hofman was.  He also claimed that Hofman was uninsured at the time of the crash and, therefore not eligible for non-economic damages due to ORS 31.715.
