Defendant Carey rear-ended plaintiff O'Dell. O’Dell claimed accident-related neck and back injuries including a herniated disk which required surgical repair. He sought $130,975.09 for past medical expenses and $250,000 in non-economic damages.
Defendant Carey admitted liability but denied that he injured O’Dell in the crash.
